Should I start a new game after recent updates/patches?

I have a savegame from May 2020. Should I start a new game to use new things? Will I be missing out on stuff if I do not?

Should not have to restart in a new game. The updates apply to all save files you have as it updates the game as whole. If you want to start a new game that is up to you. Though if you are worried you could create a duplicate of that current save file and rename then try playing in the copy to see if it works. The biggest change would be the Automation update back in June. I know some Astroneers will restart after updates just to have a fresh start but I don't think it is needed.

Thanks. Then how come the devs of Emperion require all to start a new game if they push out updates with new stuff? They apparently don't know how to make their save games, I suppose. Thanks.
