how do I get the automation stuff from care packages during automation event?

I want to stock up on automation things, like buttons and sensors, but I only receive resources.

I already got the skins and am now doing care packages and have only gotten resources with a few exo chips. I broke my own rule and am using trading platforms to get the automation stuff. I started a new game, when I haven't finalized my auto sorter design, just so I could collect that automation stuff. and no automation stuff. should I even keep trying ?
