How to turn off emote wheel?

The new emote wheel feature is ruining how i play astroneer. There is no remapping option in the menu.

I am having this exact problem. Every time I get out the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ dig tool I end up waving like a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ buffoon.

I've even died because I was trying to get out the dig tool to get back to a tether while I was digging and instead I just waved three times in a row because I was slightly moving my mouse each time... This is a serious oversight to not have a remap option, and I sincerely hope this will be fixed, even if the stupid emotes are removed all-together I don't think anyone would care much. JUST DON'T MAKE IT THE SAME BUTTON THAT YOU PRESS HUNDREDS OF TIMES EVERY PLAY SESSION... THAT SIMPLE...

This is really aggravating. I had a huge craving to play Astroneer after a few months without, but now I can't because of this problem. I too map my terrain tool to G, and I refuse to even start a new game if I have to fight with this new emote wheel. Please give an option to disable it or at least change the key, for goodness sake.

I came here looking for the hotkey for that damn wheel. I pressed every key on my keyboard and couldn't get it to exit. It was too late for my character who died of suffocation. SES are murders.

Seriously, if they are trying to draw attention to their emote store, this is the wrong way to do it.
