Why Is Malachite So Rare ?

The starter planet I found myself on seems to lack Malachite - which I need a lot of.
I'm aware it spawns in the mountain biomes, however it is VERY VERY difficult to find.
I'm currently in the process of strip-mining an entire mountain range flat, and so far I've collected less than 1 bundle of Malachite.
I've also bored down to the core, and have yet to find any Malachite in any of the cave systems.

I pulled 3 medium canisters off of the surface of Glacio today. One of the better planets for resources.

Create a small lithium battery and replace it with copper in a scrap separator. You can see the efficiency of 2 copper per lithium.

Try looking on Calidor. It should be common in first cavern layer.
