Stuck on Rad planet, NO RESIN ANYWHERE!!
Seriously, I have 30 + hours on this save but I am a dumbass and I ran out of fuel on Rad planet.. Can't find any resin anywhere, don't have trade researched yet. Please help, I spent like 10+ hours making tethers to travel around the planet to try and find resin of crash sites but so far no cigar... Thx

how do you know the names of the planets?

If you make a space ship and go into space, and go into the solar system you can hover over them and they are all named for what they're known for.

Anyway, Resin is UNDERGROUND, same with compound. Find a cave, you can usually find large deposits on the cave walls, if you don't, dig a little inside the caves and you'll find plenty of it.

There isnt any naturally occuring Resin on Rad. I did however manage to go into game files and delete a save, this freed up my 2 resins that I brought with me which allowed me to make a large platform that used to glitch the game. A large platform will provide u with air even when not connected to base, so I walked the entire planet holding this large platform till I found enough crash sites that had res to get me outta there.. After like 4+ hours.

Yeah I noticed those platforms provide oxygen without being connected to base or power; nice trick too ;) good thinking!

All the things that have an illuminated blue tube around them have O2 and are tetherable.
And every single planet has resin and compound, you just have to dig for it on most of them, you will only find them on the surface of Terran.

idk which planet I'm on; does everyone start off on Terran or is it random? Either way I've started 2 games each biome were different (different surface colors at least) if everyone starts off on Terran then the colors being different is interesting ;)

Anyway my point is I've found resin and compound lots on the surface as well as under (well not so much under though) on my starter planet whatever it is.

Everyone starts on Terran planet around the equator but there are several locations where you base could end up since it's an almost procedurally generated planet so you could end up in a weird location, but it's guaranteed you'll find resin and compound very very near the base, the starter locations are 'designed' that way.

im almost certain there isnt resin on rad planet

according to this Resin is rare but I am thinking theyre referring to crash sites and not actual mine spots because like i said, ive spent HOURS in caves and on surface.. https://astroneer.gamepedia.com/Radiated

I have no problems finding resin and compound on radiated, it's my favorite planet to set up a base on, just wish the tool would work on ALL of the planets properly. And no, it doesn't mean crash sites, it is the in-ground nodes and they're usually the large size ones. You will not find them by walking around in caves or on the surface, you HAVE to dig for them.
