can't fill canister

I made the Mineral Extractor and some canister but I can't fill the canisters with soil

You put canister on backpack and then mine dirt.. and the canister fills slowly with dirt.. and you're saying that when you do this, the canister remains empty?

they remain empty. Watched several vids I noticed that my containers look different, mine are a little larger and are solid white.

Are you using an old save? Old saves are not compatible with newer builds, things break rather often if you do.

I have been playing this save for a while. I hate to start a new save but if I have to I have to. TY

You can always start a new game even if it's just to test the canisters. You get like 8 or so slots to use...

Yes, it's better to test and delete than 'not to test' ... ;-)

Did you put the canister on the extractor? Press E after Q and you will see 3 slots on it. Or press Shift-left click on the canister and it will put on the extractor.

that actually doesn't matter. canisters fill regardless of where they are in your inventory.
