Fixing the Alignment Mod
I've seen many people complaining about this mod. I'm one of them. I believe it's due to the expectation of how it works based on the tool tips vs what actually happens in practice.

As far as I can tell from testing: The mod will create a curve based on where you click it at the a height based on where you clicked algned pointing at the center of the world.

If you move this while continuing to hold the button, it works just like the normal Flatten tool and will remain on the same plane. This doesn't continue to align to the curve of the world.

It is no different than if I take the mod off and use the normal flatten, except that it's creating a curved surface at the "start."

To achieve the function that most believe the mod should do based on the tool tip, you must click/unclick, move to that newly aligned area. Repeat.

This is incredibly unsatisfying as it requires you to spam click and it's very imprecise.

The fix:

Re-code the Alignment Mod in this way. When I first click I am given a RADIAL distance from the center of the world. As long as I hold the button down, I can move the tool around and walk around and it will maintain the Radius it started with and it will continuously Align the center of the tool to face down that radial line.

You can do this with the cross product. I'm sure you know this.

So useful in so many ways.

Keeping the tool plane perpendicular to the radial seems like a simple solution. All the planets are perfect spheres and there's no need for Geoid maths. It would be nice as well if after clicking you could micro-adjust elevation, but this can also be done by building a mound and picking your spot.
