Node alignment for North and South
So I've been going around hours upon hours trying to find my last node, expecting that the northern and southern nodes would be on the top and bottom of the display.

It took me some time to figure out that this is not the case for some odd reason.

Could it please be adjusted that the North node is on top of the display, and the Southern on on the bottom part?
Finding your way in this game is hard enough, due to there being no help and no mapping tools when it comes to navigation, at least get this right.

I was about to create my own suggestion post but it relates to this one so I'll add to Malibloo's suggestion. Having the north polar node on the top of the planet in the node display would be useful but what would also be useful would be a contextual compass. What I mean by this is a compass that shows directions realistically based upon where on the planet you are standing.

For example, if you were standing on the south pole, every direction on the compass should be north. As soon as you start to walk slightly away from the pole your compass could then show east, south and west again but because you are still near the pole, if you start walking east for example, as you walk east the arrow to the east on the compass would rotate around the compass because basically walking east or west when you are only a few metres from the pole just means walking in a small circle.

This way you could tell how far from the equator you were by how much the compass deviates while walking east or west.

In this game, north and south do not follow cartography norms. North is not the top of the planet display from orbit. From the top of the displayed world from orbit to the bottom is the equator. North pole is the far right from orbit and south pole is the far left. You can follow the equator around the world by keeping the 'milky way' star band above you. But, there must be reason to their madness that in not having the big purples exactly at the cardinal points of the compass. It would be totally impossible to find any of them if not for the sparkling purple columns.

Why doesn't this follow cartography norms? If the top of the planet is north, and the equator is perpendicular to the star band, then this means the planet is perfectly aligned to its orbit to the star and the cartography north and south are correct, no?

Anyway, if this is fixed, it would make pathfinding a whole lot easier. If you're on a side node, you can without a doubt find all 4 adjacent to it. Because all the cardinal directions would lead directly towards one.
You could technically still do this if you figure out how the node display is rotated. And you could take a gamble and go into any of the cardinal directions either way, but I've tried doing this for 2 full hours and didn't find a new one.

Additionally, it'd be great if the nodes would get to keep their beam of light, but change its pattern or color, so they can still be found without being forced to put a beacon on each and every one of them.

Personally I would appreciate anything that would help with pathfinding. We're extraterrestrial explorers with 3D printers and have a trading station that presumably trades with something somewhere. Surely we could create some kind of satellite to help us out?

Having the northpole on the right side was really confusing and still is.
So yeah, it should be fixed.

Slightly offtopic, but beacons seem bugged. They get covered by clouds.
