Where is 'PAUSE' button in this game (for single play at least)
Sometimes you need to leave your place for a couple of minutes. And I like to travel with limited air supply... What to do?

Jump into a habitat or any seat and the game will be saved at that point. You may then exit the game and resume from that point.

Yes, I know, but I like to travel with limited air on my back... ;) So, it's quite difficult not to die when the tel rings or boss comes... ;)

Work, rest and play, but never at the same time ;)

Well it is not a pause key but if you press the ESC key while IN the game you will get the menu that will allow you to drop to desktop. Click on that and the game will save everything for you. When you go back in you will start where you left off.

You don't need a habitat. Now if you ESC while in a vehcile you will need to dismount and then remount before the vehicle will move. But that is no big thing.

That was a joke about boss coming. ;)
But really exit to main menu or destop everytime you need to make an urgent break is not very convenient. And due to high system requirements starting the game is quite long time for me... (

Just hop into your habitat or any seat and go do whatever you need to and leave the game running. You are perfectly safe and you may hit the Windows key to switch to your desktop for anything else you may need and simply return to the game when you wish.
In fact if you zoom right out while in your hab, you can then, depending on how well you arranged your base, activate basestations to produce fuel, trade for resources, research items, smelt nuggets etc 'remotely' all from the comfort of your seat without having to scurry around ;)

i think it's important to note that you can't just hop onto any seat to save. it'll keep you protected from storms if it's detached from a vehicle, but not from high falls (even the vehicle will eject you if it flips over)
so tl;dr: the seat needs to be attached to a vehicle for it to save

This is not a good solution. There are 2 examples:
1. you are faraway from the base. No rover, tethers around. You are scouting, oxygen is running out and it's just enough for you to run back to rover. And suddenly you need to leave your computer. What to do? Die in pain?
2. You're working hard making fuel or hundreds of reserch during the night. Energy fully used and it's quite long time till morning, You get the habitat or a seat to wait till morning and meanwhile go to have a cup of coffee. And when you're a back - it's evening already, you're at your base and no energy at your batteries still. 'Cause there is funny bug - if you are waiting for the dawn at your base, your batteries will not start charging from solar panels untill you start moving (yourself or items you have at the base). Only after that charging starts.
Don;t tell me about wind generators. Sometimes you can't research it.

Real life trumps virtual life. Priorities, dude.
If you suddenly have to leave playing a game, then so be it.

uhm stop right there a moment, fuel production isn't hard work lol. With 4 fuel condensers, it doesn't take much effort at all to occasionally click the start button on all 4. You can even do that while sitting in your habitat. I can't imagine any easier work.

No it isn't evening already because the moment you hopped into your habitat, you made a game save point. So, if you have to leave your computer, then when you return you load that save and carry on.
Personally, I rarely wait until morning if my power runs out and I have work to do. I go get some power or switch to another useful activity. My aim is to be able to power my base and store enough power in batteries so that my base is functional day or night. Until that I reach that stage, I work and never wait for the sun ;)

If you don;t need pause button don't use it then. Just need an option - pause or save button. That's it.
It seems to me you are boring right now having everything at your base - resourses, energy etc. Start a new game and build a new base. And you'll see how it is funny with empty batteries you can;t charge due to a small bug... )

I took your suggestion and started another 158 game today.
The batteries are charging just fine, thank you. I'm also neither bored nor finshed.
