4-car Large Rover train refuses to move.
I have a feeling that the physics radius is too low to make these kind of trains work because I'm finding the last car refuses the move unless I cause the train to go in a circle and then get in, and then it will move.

The only workaround I've found for this is to jam the rover into reverse and try to scrunch up the train so I get as close as the rear car as needed to cause it to "jump" into life and start working.

I recorded a few minutes of gameplay where I have to keep stopping and starting to get various obstacles out my way or grab items along the way etc, I have to decide whether something is worth the effort or dealing with the jank anymore.

I'd happily try changing a variable to do with the physics, but all of the default .ini files are packed away in a .pak now.

4 empty rover will work, but you have to remember each item you fit on the rover add weight. So you can only effectively have 3 rovers, not 4.

This is not a big or an issue, the game always been designed to be optimal at up to 3 rover fully fited.

But 4 rovers works, it just seems that physics isn't working on the 4th rover as it's too far away. So you have to get close to it in the 1st rover to enable its physics.

Anyway, I've finished on the starting planet, and am making 3-car large rovers on other planets instead, even if it means less storage/energy

As has been mentioned many times in the past. A temporary fix for an issue with floating away objects and as a temporary performance increase, the physics radius was adjusted, it is just right for 3 large rovers, 4 dips 50% of the last rover in the train past the physics radius and locks it in place. The physics radius is around the player character.

There's nothing you can do about it until a proper optimization pass is done with maximum effort by the devs.

I've just run into this issue as well. If you put a seat on the second rover in the chain it moves fine. The confusion is medium rovers clearly indicate you can't have more than 4 chained together as the 5th will not hook up. However on the large rover the 4th hooks up.

Depending on how "Temporary" this fix is it might be worth changing the Large rovers so the 4th can't be hooked up to reduce confusion.

this happens with all vehicles regardless of trailers used or not. and its becomeing a game breaking issue when i can't get my rover to move because i cant determine if its the bug or someting in the game like a rock or boulder with an odd hit box clipping into the vehicle. and you spend 40 mins tryign to get your rover to move nad it still wont and you've dug a hole to china and it still stuck.

I haven't been able to get more than *2* large rovers to move. Well, I once got three to move for a bit by driving from the middle one, but that of course made the front one act like a trailer, so that was completely non-viable. This is ESPECIALLY annoying since the store page trailer shows a train of FIVE fully loaded large rovers chugging along just fine

Put the cockpit on the *back* of the first rover, maybe? I thought it was just an out-right game limitation on max # of lg rovers, good to know it's just the physics radius! That's only so short because the terrain LOD pop distance is just past that... probably keeps objects from falling thru the world when you walk away from the chunk. Massive hack eh!
