I can now confirm the following:
1. You can print another probe scanner and it will point at the probe(s) again. So no need for a beacon or searching half the planet.
2. Despite no outline for the probe scanner appearing on the probe, you can still place it and it will activate again.
3. The wanderer appears again and you can interact with him (without a camera!) to take a picture and all your missions and achievements and cosmetics will pop. And all is right with the world again.
I did try all this on the same Glacio probe again, the one I had acctivated last. Don't know if it would work with others, though I assume it would.
Any ideas?
