Game Closes When Laptop Lid is Closed
I lost a number of hour's worth of progress because of this. I'd love to see either a fix for this issue, a dedicated save button/autosave feature, or both :)

Loving the game so far!

99.99999999999% of games do not have a sleep or hybernate feature and therefore are EXITED by the operating system - as designed.

However, I believe they recently added in a bit of exit code to save the game when it is exited without saving in a habitat/seat. Unfortunately when you close your laptop lid, it is an immediate exit code that they haven't accounted for so it didn't save. They can fix that and make it save but the game will still exit.

Hibernation bypasses a clean exit. It's a "dirty" exit and should not be used to leave a game. Logging off and closing the lid can cause video memory to run out and thus crashes games.

With laptops you should be able to bypass the lid/exit/sleep mode via your bios config.
However, be aware that there is also a potential overheat cable issue if you do this, which ultimately can cause your screen to malfunction if you disable it.

Depends largely on the cable design for the connection that passes through the hinge between laptop mainboard and screen. Some advanced laptops like sony or samsung work better than other manufacturers.

A few years back, this issue was so bad with samsung/toshiba laptops that it was regarded as an out of warranty repair or customer damage it occurred so often.
This is one of the major advantages of notebooks/pads over laptops. Or laptop versions with disconnectable screens.
