How to fix Glitch DLC (SPOILERS)
Everything created in this DLC world is temporary and nothing carries over.
This needs to change. Otherwise all time spent is for nothing as I need to reload a previous save.

- Make us return to our previous world after we successfully beat the DLC.
- Let us keep a few blueprints so we can profit off of them in the main game.
- Don't be disrespectful of my time so you can stretch out the game length. Minimize the grind from the storms. Why are there 16 and then 24 and 32 items necessary? Why the convoluted quests?

Again, everything you do in DLC is for nothing. It's a dead end and it makes me regret spending my life time on it.

I suppose the same argument can be made for the base game too when using this logic.

- When you finish the base game, does it take you to another world?

- What's unique in the DLC that is an aventageous gain in the base game?

- Each level/stage you progress is always harder than the previous.

- Everything you do in the base game is also for nothing. You just start over or build up ike crazy.

It is indeed a very unlucky communicated DLC

Me and my friend were playing for 20+ hours.
Building up the Base, Setting up "automation", unlocking PLanet Cores and so on...
Then we decided to progress in the DLC Questline ...

BAM

"New Game"

... like ...

wtf?

Means that if i start the DLC i start in the new world with nothing, like a fresh start in the base game?

But i can still load my old save and visit my old world?

After im done with the DLC i cant go back to my old worlds/bases?

Yes, the DLC is a fresh start with absolutely nothing from the base game playthrough.

The main menu has changed. They added a way to jump between base and dlc.

You can change between base game and dlc any time you want.

Thx, good to know. I never would start the DLC if i lost my base game where i Invest a LOT time to develope each Planet and Moon and Build Rails to the Planetcore on every Planet and moon. Such a Massive Grind. XD

I have a Base like this on every Planet on Moons a Smaler Version.

The DLC is just Astroneer Hardmode. The gameplay loop is the same; with the goal being to unlock the planet. It's just that there are more steps to unlocking and it's easier to die. I completed it with just a tractor, 4 soil canisters, and eventually the hoverboard.

Im not a Fan from Hardcore Modes. Means unlocking that i can visit that Planet in my Base Game after i Beat the DLC? That the Planet is Part of the Base Game instead a new Game?

I am normally not a fan of hardcore modes either, but I did not find this DLC too hard. Just difficult to move around.

"Unlocking" as in activating the gateways and the core. The DLC planet is not available in the base game. Once you finish the DLC you cannot travel to the main 7 planets. The DLC and base game are two separate save files.

I dont know that sounds realy dissapointing. Would be cooler to have this Planet as Part of the Standard Worlds.

It defeats the purpose of the rest of the solar system, there is every resource and gas in that planet, you would set up base there and never fly back to any other planet besides nostalgia.

This.

It's also a part of the story that the planet is isolated. It will be interesting to see if the devs add on later.

So a Huge Mainworld.
Sounds more like a complete different way to play.
But it would be a lot cooler if we can travel there with a full packed spacehsip or Vehicle.
Pahbi Nov 18, 2024 @ 2:54pm
Honestly, just traveling there with all our research intact would have been sufficient.

Easy? You've got to be kidding when you consider how much effort it took to achieve all of this.

That's my point, for me a DLC means that I can use what I've already achieved in the main game in the DLC. No matter how well it's explained in the story *cough* laziness *cough* that we have to start over.

Hmm from what I'm reading here, that's kinda disappointing. I had thought it was an expansion of the main game, unlocking a new world in the same solar system with new features & goodies, as opposed to basically another game set within the main. If that's the case, I can understand the criticism of those asking for a way to select the DLC from the start.

Doesn't sound like my cup of tea, oh well.
