You should be able to stay in the storm for a good 10 or so seconds before being completely hacked, so run in, do what you need to do and then run out. Your health insta resets as soon as you leave the storm. Rinse/repeat.
Not like the old storms, pretty wicked.
If the area is level land, you should be able to run in, hop in, drive out in enough time.
The storms on the regular game are supposed to move from time to time. Pop up here, then there. No idea if that is triggered before accessing the dlc side or not though, so it may move, it may not. I've also heard that a reload of the save triggers the storm to respawn in another location. Again, not sure if that works before activating the dlc or not.
I have seen the storm despawn right as i got near it and then show up at a different direction on the compass when it respawned, so it does seem you have to chase down the storms.
I just bought the DLC, so will see what changes.
Good luck. It's quite interesting. It has been easy for some, and very difficult for others.
HINT: Traveling East/West keeps you in the same biome and therefor you are only getting certain resources. Traveling North/South gets you to the other biomes where the remaining resources and POIs are. The terrain can be challenging.
I believe all planets except for Sylva have a storm on it now.
I believe I have read the same too, also, "all open content" is for the base game, only the missions off the dlc, and ofcourse the planet, are dlc only. That is because you are no longer playing "astroneer" and are playing "astroneer glitchwalker".
Geaux here will correct me if needed.
I haven't gone back to Sylva yet, but if I heard correctly fromt the dev vlog, Sylva should remain without storms. That would explain why the mission makes us go to another planet/moon to get to a storm.
I have just moved on from "base 1" towards the next storm cell, I dont think I will be back to sylva any time soon...on the bright side I have zinc now so, could be worse.
and it seems they ruined the base game too.
