Wait for a sale or

So I see this game is on sale on the Windows store for like $11.99. Would there be any reason to buy it on steam rather than Windows aka Microsoft store? Look like I just miss the stream sale so I don't think there be another one for sometime now.

There is usually a sale in the latter part of January, so maybe another week or so it will likely be on sale again here. For other games there are definite advantages to buying on steam, but I don't know for Astroneer.
