Exo request platform not consuming input?

I put a full medium gas container into the EXO request platform, and it goes into space, but before it takes off, the gas canister just drops to the ground. So basically I get infinite exo request things?

Or is it because the gas canister is worth 8000 points and maybe that interferes somehow?

You can only get 1 reward per fly.

Once you finish the main goals, you can repeat the process for care packages, each only 800 points. If you send too much, you have to collect the rewards first, by sending an empty rocket. Checking the third tab of exo platforms shows you if any rewards are outstanding.

So yeah, if it drops the canister and came back with stuff, nothing's wrong.
