Medium storage disappeared?
I just took off in my rocket to use the last of my thruster and turn it into scrap, then immediately landed back down where I came from. When I landed, all my tethers and crafting stuff is here, but my 3 fully stocked medium storages have just vanished? I immediately alt+F4'd but there was an autosave... so all the stuff in those medium storages are lost. There was some good stuff in there, including some of the infinite power generators that I was going to bring to another planet.

Is there a way around this bug? That's kind of crazy they can just disappear with hours of work in the early game like this.

closing out the game in any form will trigger a save. to get around this keep a shortcut to your save folder on the desktop, its like in Users/Yourname/App/Local/Astro i believe. BEFORE you close the game, or do anything in game really, open up the folder and duplicate your save game. then you can close it out, delete the old copy and reload the save.

its stupid i know but.

as for your storages, they might be back at where you launched from. i have seen things just fall off the rocket for reasons i cant comprehend lol. its rare but.

another way is to cut your internet connection, this will prevent the cloud save from updating it on exit. Delete your save, reconnect, download your save file from steam cloud.

Most likely your storages clipped into the terrain. and when you leave render range, they fall down till they hit the next terrain level. So they'd be right under where you left them in the caves.

They are more than likely in the cave right below where they were.

You could always CTL ALT DLT to get out of the game without saving, but you have to be quick about in instances where you just died or accidentally blew your base/shuttle up. If it even remotely gets past the death/kablooeey sequence.

You could also do what Nightwolf said about keeping a shortcut for your save and back it up prior to getting into any precarious situations.
