Need help automating a small printer
I've got a small printer printing empty canisters onto a medium storage on a platform, which gets emptied into a shredder. I've slapped a storage sensor stuck to the side of the storage, set to full/not full, with the target pin stuck in the printer, which has the continuous print button turned on.

What I expect to happen is that when the storage fills up, it sends a signal to the printer which turns it off, and when a canister is pulled off it sends a signal to turn the printer on again. Instead, no signal ever gets sent, and the printer just keeps going as long as it's fed resin, resulting in a big pile of canisters rolling around the place.

What am I doing wrong?

Maybe you should control when the resin should feed the printer, when its full, disable the arm that feeds resin to the printer.

A picture might help because it sounds right but I also wonder if you need to put down a pin prior to pinning the printer cause tht's how mine is setup. It's been a little while since I played but I do that setup for scrap and exo chips and it works just fine.

In the case of my exo chips setup, I have it set to start/stop the trade platform and autoarms when the tall storage container is full. It also sends off the trade platform too. So if I take an exo chip off the storage, it all starts up and sends the trade and puts the new chip on the storage. Now that it's full again, everything stops.

other option is cut power to the printer. via power switch

The best advice I can give you is to go on to YouTube and look up a channel by One last midnight, he has a lot of good tutorial video's on all things Astroneer.
