Feature request: Steam Cloud
Would it be possible to add support for a Steam Cloud, service that can automatically store saved game and related custom files on Valve's servers; users can access this data from any machine running the Steam client? If you play on another computer, you have same data - pretty cool!

I understand that the old games don’t support this feature, but the new games should be supported automatically. We are living in 2000's not 1900's, a time when you have to save all the memory card.

It is a wonderful feeling when you lose 120 hours (Final Fantasy VII) and you have to start from the beginning.

We'll definitely consider this! Maybe not for our day 1 EA release, as save game sizes may be an issue... I believe we have max 100MB per user to work with, so there may be limitations on exactly how many worlds you can keep saved in the could. Terrain tech is tough, but we'll keep this mind as a goal!

^ THIS - OMG, so many times this.

For now, I'm using a combination of cloud service (box sync) and using junction to bind directories. Pain in the arse to set up, but gets the job done.

Especially for survival crafting games it is very important to have steam cloud ... No one likes to start from scratch on a 2nd computer.

I would like to play on my laptop at work but cannot sync my home PC save data .... So I quit right now playing on laptop.

Grab a small USB, 1 gb or so
Go to C:\Users\youruser\Appdata\Local\Astro
Then go to saved
Save games and find the one with the date that you want
Copy paste it onto your USB

Done

That would be okay if we lived in the 1990s

Fore minecraft I would create a symlink from the save games folder to my dropbox, might be a workaround for now
ShreddinPB 21 DIC 2016 a las 10:55
I used this site and did the symlink thing and it works locally, when I get home I will do the same thing there and see if it works.

Just got the game today. Saw that it did not have steam sync. Hope this helps. Should work with other cloud stoarge services. I used Google Drive Sync.

Step 1: Create a folder on Goolge Drive. Copy Astronee save files to folder.

Step 2: Rename, move or delete SaveGames.

Step 3: Start cmd.exe as Administarator.

cd to astroneer folder, on Windows 10 it is: C:\Users\userName\AppData\Local\Astro\Saved

Create Symbolic Link to Google Drive.

C:\Users\userName\AppData\Local\Astro\Saved>mklink /D SaveGames "C:\Users\userName\Google Drive\myGames\astroneerSaves\"
symbolic link created for SaveGames <<===>> C:\Users\userName\Google Drive\myGames\astroneerSaves\"

Repate Step 2 and 3 on other computers.
