RIP medium storage container
My medium storage tower passed away unexpectedly yesterday when he snapped to the extra large shredder and was immediately devoured. He was survived by all kinds of **** that had been attached but now fell to the ground as I looked on in horror. I tried pulling him out, but once the shredding process begins nothing stops it. Medium storage container was visibly shaken and unfortunately the next day he also snapped to the extra large shredder and was shredded along with a dozen or so hard gathered graphite. For some unexplained reason elements in canisters are shredded whereas elements snapped onto medium storage towers escape.

Also not explained and really needing some explanation is why the shredder sometimes goes into burned out mode being totally inefficient while making that awful noise even though it has plenty of power and places to put scrap. It just seems to overheat or something but its practically a law that if you have an overheating mechanic in a game you also have to have a progress bar showing it's status and maybe some smoke effects and sparks.

People have been sucked into paper shredders by their fingers. It happens. I'd like to see the Chinese safety video for that.

If the shredder finishes making a scrap but there is no where for the scrap to go it will go into what you call the "burned out" mode.

The storage being shredded will give you back the same amount of scrap that the item would have taken to make. So while your emotionally scarred, you haven't really lost anything. It is annoying though. In regards to canisters losing what they contain though you are right. When a non-canister storage or platform, or anything with attachment slots gets shredded anything attached to it gets popped off. Stuff INSIDE a canister have no time to escape and you can hear the resource's souls being devoured by the demon shredder.

not 100% accurate, basic materials such as resin, compound etc only yield half what their trade platform scrap cost equates to, so if its a medium storage (8-slot) and not a medium silo (24 slot) then it would only yield 1/2 a scrap, and be worth 1 resin on a trade platform.

However if its an ore based item like the medium silo, then yes, they'd have received enough scrap to re-buy the titanium and remake the silo.
