With all the improvements added to this game, locking mouse cursor to the window is still not a thing...
I see all the really awesome content added since this game's release, yet something so basic as locking the mouse to the game window on a multi monitor setup is STILL NOT a thing in this game.

Its probably not something that takes a lot of effort to implement unlike many other features added and many many people over the years have asked for it but what, the Devs of this game just couldn't be bothered?

System Era Softworks you are seriously lucky I am too damned lazy to write a negative review for this game because after almost 10 years and your too ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ lazy to have something so simple as lock the mouse cursor to the game window you deserve a negative review.

Ive tried FullscreenLock by Blaberry but unfortunately the cursor on windows 11 still goes enough onto the other monitor to draw focus from Astoneer. So if anyone else has any suggestions for utility applications like FullscreenLock it would be appreciated since its obviously too much for the devs to implement.

Dual Monitor Tools works fine for me in this and other games with the same problem. Win 11 no problem. It has a number of options but I just use a hotkey to free the cursor if I need to access another screen. Free and open source.

Hey Dersh, i hear ya. This can be annoying, and there are other issues with the game that could easily be fixed but they just dont care to.

I might have a solution for you. The game, for me at least, only allows me to set the game to either windowed or windowed fullscreen. Both options, like any other game, do not lock the cursor to the window without an additional setting to make that happen, which this game doesnt have that I am aware. However, last time I had this game installed I located the settings configuration file and opened that in a text editor. Within that file, the fullscreen setting can be set manually to (2) for windowed fullscreen, (1) for windowed, or (0) for actual fullscreen. The last option (fullscreen) should enable cursor capture by nature, and solve your problem.

I set mine to fullscreen (fullscreen=0), which then makes the game resolution setting apply (it doesnt do anything in the other two modes), and this made the UI/text issues in the game better for me, as well as enhancing my game resolution once I set the resolution to my preferred 3840x1080 for my monitor in the same configuration file. Couldnt do that in the game either, as all the resolutions listed were nowhere what I needed, though there are a few different places I had to set in the file to make it work.

Feel free to let us know if this solution worked for you. Cheers!

There are 3 lines you would change for Exclusive Fullscreen in C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Local\Astro\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor/GameUserSettings.ini

FullscreenMode=0
LastConfirmedFullscreenMode=0
PreferredFullscreenMode=0

Unfortunately that doesn't work, or at least not for everyone, including me. That's why I use DMT I mentioned above.

A warning, do your research with sourceforge.net. They are not very good at preventing malware, and are well known for being a source of it, either directly as the software you downlaod or packaged with it. Dont take sourceforge.net's word for it, research other sources as to their safety. Anything the company claims must be taken with a grain of salt, as their opinion of their own safety is biased and self-serving. There are many people on the web telling their bad experiences with sourceforge malware.

Thanks for suggesting this one, it actually works pretty well for what I want it to do. Unfortunately going back to using a single monitor for me is like going back to 800 x 600 resolution lol
