I like this event but....
I come back every year to play the salvage events and for the most part have been enjoying cleaning up my planet again. I start brand new games to do point allotments for vanity then go back and clean up older files and saves.

I have two puzzling problems with how this event has been presented;

1) I saw the leek item and got exited for the potential of a farming feature that maybe I had missed, or a new plant introduction. I spent the first week of the event checking the forums and Steam and googling, trying to find it, thinking it had something to do with the singing slugs which is content I normally ignore.

Nothing. Not even a mention of potential data mining for how its supposed to be found or if it's even in the game files.

WHY Can I see it as an ingredient at all if it isn't available?!

2) Crafting the Burrito.

Okay, we're in second stage now. Cool! Looking forward to it!

.... There is a second item I dont know how to find, and the second stage of the event only gave me one of the item. I have been up and down my tether lines opening all the caches I can find, and there is no recipe unlock or RNG Drops of the new materiel.

What?

Did someone update the wrong file?

I have an extra 20k research points from pathing all over the planet and hitting nodes and unlocking recipes in my panel but nothing new is unlocking.

I'm going to try and hit the other planets, something really feels wrong.

Look underground in the mushroom layer you need laterite to open up the canisters, and you might find resipound and other stuff in there. Unfortunately, I too had anticipated more farming.

Go to the mantle and open up only purple laterite and power canisters.

Thank you.

Also, this information actually made me feel kind of dirty. It spent over a week trying to find a natural cave that would take me down into the mantle layer and couldn't find one.

While it is probably just unlucky cave spawn design, I felt dirty resorting to just pointing my drill almost straight down and drilling my way to the resources.

I found leeks immediately and felt like a moron.

Still would have prefer a new craft or gardening option. Darn.

My theory on this event is that they designed it this way to be a lot more difficult to complete in a matter of minutes. With that being said, I can understand why you are not able to make a garden for leeks or for anything for that matter.

Btw, the yellow leek caches give an omnugget.

Insert my husband laughing at me and teasing me for my minecraft instincts and fear of falling into lava if I dug straight down.

I have been doing blocks of 4+ hours of gameplay doing planetary cleanup and it took me this long to just dig down XD

You can fall to your death or get blasted by a hisbane. You need to be sure you have a soil canister on you so you can make ramps to get you up/down more safely.
