Report a translation problem
I wasn't clear on what you were describing, so I'll include an old post of mine talking about drilling angles and such, just to make sure you are interpreting the display correctly.
Its not harder terrain.
Not on sylva, especcially not.
Edit: I was using it correctly. The level didnt move from the middle at all, and the up or down arrows never appeared.

You are misinterpreting the display. The horizontal lines shows your angle relative to the vehicle's current heading, not relative to gravity. If you keep the indicator bar on the middle line, you will maintain your current angle of descent/ascent, whatever that is. There are a pair of small triangles on the outer right/left edge of the display that indicate where to set your angle to get you back to a path that is flat relative to gravity; keep your indicator bar aligned with those if you want to dig a level path.
