Use Wide+Boost mod on your terrain tool, it's about as fast.
Given you can get more materials from a single dirt canister now, it's not that big of a problem.
I agree.
I stopped playing before the update and never had the opportunity to use it that way. I had wanted to terraform a mountain down around one of the poles for my solar base. Its a lot of work I think compared to that drill on crane.
But anyway, now when you use the crane, you cannot fill canisters but also, the boost mod does nothing to the speed of the crane so it is much faster to just use the terrain tool which completely renders the crane pointless.
It is literally the worst tool for any job.
