Found the north pole but no infinite sunlight
I journeyed nothing but north when I came to the moon and now that I have found the exact north tip of the planet, there is no infinite sunlight at all.

I know it's the tip because the compass turns around south when I get to the northernmost point. But the sun still sets and comes up and my solar panels will lose power for at least 45 seconds. Am I doing something wrong or is it not possible to get absolute infinite sun power on the poles? Or is there such a way but it's not on the pole?

You can tilt the surface, e.g. with Large Storage or with Extra Large Plattform 2 I believe and place them in a triangle than you still have round the clock sun-power just not at 100% efficiency.

This is what I ended up doing. They changed it huh.. wow. Ok thanks xD

It also helps greatly to ramp up and build your platforms higher up, to get above blocking mountains. If you get high enough, you will get unlimited power at the north pole. You will know when you are high enough when you can see the sun completely circle the horizon. I just put my power up high, using the alignment mod to extrude columns straight up, then use power extenders to run the power down to my base. When the storms eventually are reintroduced into the game, you can still build your whole base underground, with the power way up high

shorter cycles is still better for solar power, takes fewer batteries

Yeah they moved the sun, it's not directly on the equator, but it's quite a bit closer now... You should still be able to get a lot more sunlight than other places by putting it at the solar pole though, enough that a couple batteries will suffice during downtime.

Yeah it's totally enough. There is only 40 seconds of off time if you place panels on one location. If you place two panels you still have 24 hour power. Still it doesn't make sense, do not all planets have one spot that permanently looks at the sun? It should just be a matter of finding where it is.

I couldn't manage to do it though. Maybe I'm doing it wrong.

i just built on top of the alien thing on the north pole

No, you could only get 100% on the smaller worlds in the first place. The larger ones you used to be able to see the sun the whole time at the pole, but it wasn't high enough in the sky to activate the solar panels 100% of the time.

But, if you make a pillar and put solar panels or the new solar array on it vertically, on all 4 sides of the pillar you might be able to get 100% at the poles.
