Power Cells now worthless?

Is it just me, or are power cells rather worthless? They get destroyed when depleted so what is the point? Wouldn't you rather just make a slightly larger storage bench and plug in regular batteries that you can continuously reuse?

the one time use ones? have they not always been like that?
yeah batteries are always better than those. but i think they cost less?. its for early exploration only i belive

Yeah, they've been like that since forever, disposable early power source, cheaper to make than normal batteries.

Batteries don't generate power, they store it. And each cell actually provides 50% more power than one small battery can hold. Underground, these are a lifesaver combined with the portable oxygenator. They last a good long while on buggies, too. The real travesty is medium batteries

I find them helpful very early in game or while setting up a new base on a new planet, but otherwise I leave them in a heap on the ground. They give a little boost before you have batteries up and going. I've never made one, but I'll use the ones I find.

They don't get used up if you use them to power lights which makes them great for lamps and worklights far away from any power source.

I craft most of my zinc into them just for scrap, but that isn't really a problem if you don't use the trade platform a lot.

Yeah they're pretty much as useful as an Apple PC.

You can collect them and use them to power up those alien things early.
