Manual Space Flying?
Is there a mod that allows for manual space flying? I was curious about this. Granted, I only just got the game so I haven't done much yet, but from the gameplay I've seen if you wanted to, say, go to another planet, you mostly do some kind of "warp" there. It'd be cool if you can build a ship and fly to other planets yourself using a keyboard/controller. Especially since I often see the planets orbit really close to each other (like on the starting planet of Sylva I swear Atrox is always like right there next to it.

On another note, I love the low-poly aesthetic of the planets. They're made of massive polygons at high altitudes but once you go down to the surface it becomes more and more detailed.

There are no mods for this game.
Of course there are mods for this game just no steam support for them
There are no mods for that but if you want gameplay like this you should try "No Man's Sky".

Honestly I've always hated posts like this. Like "Oh if you want so-and-so just play this game". If people had this mindset for everything I don't think anything would ever get accomplished. Like people who compared Forza and Gran Turismo, for example. They are both completely different in several aspects. If you want a feature, you shouldn't have to play a game that's completely different from the current and has different goals.

No Man's Sky has loads of things that are way different from Astroneer. Just because I want a mod or feature in Astroneer doesn't mean I should just go play No Man's Sky when I want to play Astroneer. I mean it's like Chevrolet saying if you wanted a sedan from them that you should go buy a Ford since Ford makes sedans.

You can fly between planets but it's tricky.
If you want to make mod for this then 3 technical problems need to be solved:
1. Remove invisible planet boundary.
2. Make camera controllable in space.
3. Make visible the planet of destination when you approach them without using shuttles.

Without mods you can do this:

Ridiculous, they're just making a suggestion ffs haha how is that feeding some conspiracy of anti game improvement? Several core mechanics of Astroneer would have to be rewritten to add flying manually, and the devs have never indicated they are interested in adding it, they've said many times it's not gonna happen. So yeah, wish in one hand etc etc, suggesting they play a game that has that kind of mechanic is totally reasonable, different games to scratch different itches. It's not like Astroneer is still in early access, so why would it make any kind of sense to stubbornly sit around in futility, wanting something that will never come?
No Man's Sky is literally exactly what you're asking for so idk how thats a conspiracy but you do you buddy
