If you can build your trade platform and shred stuff around the planet, you can easily get iron, it's very cheap.

Need iron to build that so you have to find some first :)

On exotic you have to go pretty deep to find Hematite. They are not very common there. Probably same as with Titanite on terran.

No hematite on any of those planets... can't build anything without IRON

Iron is the bottleneck to expansion on all fronts and there is none on the moon. I can't make fuel without it. Have to only use solid fuel boosters.

No iron on moon, tungsten is on moon. Don't need iron for chem table.

Iron is on Exotic I think but I haven't checked cause I'm trying to get more tungsten so I can craft chem labs and the such. I went to Arid and found a spawn of hematite, but even if you don't find any, I'd keep searching.

I dont know if you all noticed this, but if you have your printer set up and have a thing selected that uses a given resource, you can hover over its ghost spot and it says what planets you can find a given resource on. I was on arrid for a bit got a pretty built up base there and I got about 4 or 5 hematite(iron) from there. It was on the surface, but you gotta watch out because theres flying spike balls all over the place. Seems if you are in a rover its kinda safe tho, just gotta be dodgey and get back in the rover if u see some coming. Also, im not entirely sure wind changes directions too fast so if they keep coming from the one side and you wanna mine something, park your rover upwind of the hole so its kinda like a windbreaker that blocks the spike balls.

The planet I used to hate the most is now my favorite and it has PLENTY of Hematite everywhere on the surface and below. Tundra. Can be a pain to get on/off, but otherwise I am really digging it.

Look, just build a small shuttle with disposable thrusters and make a run to Tundra with an empty pack. Your main goal is only to get a few of what you need then go back to Terran and finish off building your trade platform and shredder. Your other main goal is building a large shuttle if you want to go back, otherwise you can shred anything and get whatever you want just by taking a rover down into the caves and mining copper or aluminum.

I found iron in a big cavern on exotic.

I did that - went to 3 diff worlds none of them had iron above or below.. I got fed up and stopped playing.

You realize if you mouse over the item it tells you where to find it. They literally spoon feed you yet you stop playing like a little baby anyway. Wow.

I can confirm that it is on Exotic. Just got some from there earlier.
