Terrin - Zinc, Lithium, Iron, Tungsten
Barren - Iron, Titanium
Exotic - copper, Titanium
Tundra - copper, Lithium
Arid - Lithium, Tungsten, Titanium
Radiated - copper, Iron, Titanium
I'm making solar panels on Terrin for my other bases and Battiers on Exotic where is rains lithium or at least I stumble over it around every other corner it seems.
The game, went through all the devices and pointed at each ghost image for the resource to see where you get it from. Made a standared excell chart, resorces down the side and planets at the top, lots of check marks later and vola.
My suggestion before moving to tundra is load up your pack with 5 compound (you will need this for 1 small printer, 1 medium printer, and 1 mineral extractor), 1 power source (wind, solar, or small generator), 1 aluminum (for the mineral extractor), and whatever resin you can carry - though resin is easy to find on tundra.
Your top priority is to get that mineral extractor running, as some basic resources such as compound and quartz are very rare on tundra.
You will have to hunt for scrap to get lithium - a medium battery is critical. Thankfully iron is quote common. Until you get the medium battery use a medium generator - there's plenty of tungsten around. Eventually you might want to trade for malachite to get a medium solar panel running.
Overall tundra has been quite fun.
My current goal is to get a hydrazine shuttle built so I can ship in some lithium and copper. By the way, copper seems quite rare now. Where's the best planet to get lots of it?
Barren
And now there is another component. The availability of gases there. It doesn't help if you have the solid resources but need to change to another planet to get the gas for it all the time.
Exotic for example has often nightmarish surface condition for vehicles (and Astroneers) and the common storms are really a pain. The caves are okay although not always easy for vehicles but it's so dark there and a lot of stuff is on the ceiling, which you can barly reach. Not to mention the numerous poisonous plants everywhere.
Barren has Lithium, but you often need a Drill to destroy the hard rock and it's rare and more in the deepest levels. But I like that there are no storms but a little too much spiky plants in the caves.
I also don't enjoy having to travel ages to come across anything worth to mine or find or having to traverse complex cave systems only to find a Gas Filter now and than. I think all Non-Terran planets could use an improvement now that we are forced to go there.
Exotic is winning in my book, so far as it has the most Gas's at 4 that I've found and I can bring copper and titanium, the only missing metals from Terrin.
The mineral extractor easily compensates for this.
