Sphalerite???

My @$$ it is, i've yet to see this common ore ANYWHERE on any planet in my current game. Aresloads of every other ore,even the rare ones but not this stuff.....

Nowhere did it say it's common.
It only says you can find it above and below the ground of most planets.
I found my first deposit on the surface of Barren.

I wouldn't see why. It's not too useful anyway.
And the ore isn't really that rare either. More a matter of RNG, if anything. I found plenty on Barren.

Kind of useful for making flat ground.....its just silly a basic tool should suddenly become a later game item....

You shouldn't be concerned with making perfect bases till end-game anyway.
Although you easily can use the existing terrain (around the main habitat) and flatten from there. The alignment tool isn't necessary for that at all.

I have been exploring my starting planet on surface and caverns for HOURS but still no ores to create Zinc, Tungsten or Iron. It is ok a resorce to be rare but if you make them so rare don't put them as recepies for basics modules like the trading station :/

I agree this pass needs some work, I'm finding rather rare ores everywhere on my planet, but some common ones simply aren't here. Its EA so its expected but it needs some work to be sure.

on my planet i only find titanite, malachite, laterite and graphite all the other ores are not existent

There's none of that on Terran (or at least shouldn't be...). You are supposed to go to another planet for that.
Also those modules are not basic.

I found it on terran in a cave right next to my starting point. The cave that is. The ore was farther along the cave but was still on the first level of it. And was definitely on Terran as I haven't gone anywhere else yet in the new save.

Yeah,

gotta say Im not a fan of this pass..... Some simple things shouldn't require travel to other planets to get the materials to build, zinc should be common, or at least not so uncommon that i have to go to another planet to get it because i can't find it on the starter planet. Otherwise don't make basic items take zinc.

And why does a platform suddenly take iron. The one platform I always use due to its storage capacity now takes iron, that has to be mined at another planet. So by the time i can get any all the structures that I wanted to build on it are already built on other platforms and i have to rebuild them if i want them on the new platform becuase they don't come off once placed.... Again, silly

And if your going to force me to travel don't make a medium shuttle require tungsten! I want to go collect some ores and bring them back I only have one option, to shuttle back and forth on the little bitty one with only a backpack full of ore each time until I can figure out where the precious tungsten is hiding....?

I love this game, but this pass i'm not a fan of, I like the idea, and what they are trying to do, but i think this was a poor representation of it, any new person coming to this game like this, is going to get frustrated very quickly with some of the "blocks" in place.

We aren't meant to live on just one planet with every resource at our finger tips. Yes up to now that's been the case.. welcome to game development.

You missed the whole point of the new shuttle...

All we've been hearing from the player base in the past is there was ZERO reason to go to the other planets. Well now they've fixed that and given us a very easy and cheep why to get there and home with the resources we need to build more advanced items so we can make bigger shuttles to go and get more stuff or build additional bases, explore etc.

My point is the artificial roadblocks they have put in place to force you off planet are in the wrong places, simple tools, and even platforms should not be "blocked" by a trip to another planet.

Also, in game there should be an easy way to tell WHAT planet is likely to have what materials.... Perhaps there is and that i've missed, but if not, it should be there.
