So extenders are really weird... ?
Seems like if you connect 1 input extender and 3 output extender to a platform then each of the outputs will take a third of the power, even if they are not connected to anything (or more likely whatever it is connected to isn't running)...

I ran into this because I wanted to build my base up in sectors (power generation sector, printer sector, research sector, and so on), seems like I will need to play around with my design more to not waste a lot of energy...

Weird, so extenders can serve as a type of power splitter?

Probably. I think the most important thing to learn from this is you need to remember to unplug your tractor since it might just eat more of your power than you would think :P

this is why i just use small solar, wind, etc. they serve the same purpose as extenders, but they also generate power pending on conditions. extenders are great if you want to prioritize power distribution but if your like me and want everything on a shared grid with a lot of power gen/reserve power, extenders are scrapper food.

I thought about using small platforms instead, but this seems like a nice alternative :D

extenders are pretty weird honestly and if you dont have a proficient power system in place anything you have connected can and will continue to drain power

i use mediums with the medium wind/solar etc on them as well if i need to split off in 3 directions. little extra work but its effective.

then there are the large solar and such that could replace using the mediums altogether, but they require good positioning to get their full power potential and aren't suitable for every world.

Early game I use wind and solar and batteries, but once I get RTGs, I crank out dozens of them, and just power the whole base.
