Any Tips On Finding Laterite?
As the title said, any tips on finding laterite? I have been exploring caves for hours and have not found any laterite. I am currently on Calidor, just in case you guys wanted to know.

If the starting planet you're on doesn't have that ore in abidance, start a new save. On all my saves I have to much laterite I never use storage in returning home with it. Best to get all the other stuff and ignore it.

What's more important than laterite? Everything, including research objects you find under spitting plants etc.

On Astropedia (in pause menu) you have catalog Planets, you can see what planet got 2 most spawning resources, if planet don't got Laterite on Astropedia on your planet you have to keep searching. It spawns but it's not main resource and it's harder to find.

I don't think planet-specific resources ever spawn on other planets. To my memory, Laterite only spawns in caves on Sylva, and in mountains on one other planet. (Astropedia shows which resources spawn where.)

Edit: Looks like I was thinking of Sphalerite; Laterite is supposed to be on every planet. As for finding it, are you finding natural caves or just digging? I find far more resources in natural cave systems.

I've mined laterite aka aluminum after smelting in Calidor. they're not common in that planet but there are pockets of it in some caves and sometimes in the mountains (for me it spawned there too). sphalerite, quartz, laterite, compound, resin, clay, ammonium, graphite - they are also almost found in all planets, in different layers

So If it spawns on every planet, is there a planet that has the most of it? I am needing it for solid rocket engines and mid to late game buildings.

@Shukra Thanks! On a side note, do items on the ground produce lag? When I was exploring the caves I died a few times and there are items I have never took back.

They can, depending on the amount. A small amount shouldn't be problematic.

Laterite can be found on every planet in caves. It looks like a stack of blue coins in the dirt and usually has pretty large patches of it. Best to run a continuous line of tethers for O2 and search around until you see a glint of blue.
