The leveling block (which is misleadingly named) gives you a cube of soil (partially buried) which is perfectly aligned to the world grid. There are only six places on the planet where the world grid is perpendicular to the local gravitational "down" (the centers of the six faces of the cubic space that encloses the planet), so if you want to build the special geometric shapes the leveling block enables, and you want to have them be "level", you will need to build at one of those places. If you just want to make a locally-level space to build on, that's what the alignment tool is for.

Need use it near any purple portal building (for flat surface)

Which sucks, because on planets like Atrox (which has a LOT of little bumpy craters), I struggle to find a flat area to build a base. It's also very hard to create flat ground in this game...

Look, Im just going to say it again cuz i dont think people are complaining enough about it.. . The levelling needs to follow the curve of the planets like in the early days of EA then we wouldn't even need the "Levelling block"
From what i understand that was an unintended effect that the devs later patched out but i dont see why, People have been asking for true flat and level for i dont even know how long.
Taking the time to "level" and smooth out your base only to see that the damn thing is angled up when you look at it is so irritating..

the devs are too ***** to do this... instead have some trash no one asked for hidden behind a mission wall

To be fair the vtol is pretty awesome, But yes i agree locking it behind missions was a bad call, I dont do the missions so i had to grind for damn near 3 days to unlock the thing.

Is there a way to change the block angle at all? I've only ever been able to use it at the default 45 degree and haven't seen an option to change it
