Ok, I see that I have something wrong ...
I installed successfully with SteamCMD,
But I don't have any "ASTRONEER DEDICATED SERVER" folder ... :(
Only "ASTRONEER Early Access"
I see, I ran SteamCMD in a temp folder that I deleted
SteamCMD don't install it in my steam folder but close to it
Have to run "AstroServer-Win64-Shipping.exe" ?
1th time, that only created all .ini
I modified .ini (port, IP, name)
Now the process run only 10 seconds :(

Supposed to run AstroServer.exe in the parent dir. Then it starts the shipping executable.
When server is running both processes should show in task manager.
server processes running fine, ingame this server are in the list, but i cannot connect. after 50sek waiting "joinng host", there's a error message "failed to connect the host".

any ideas?

A loop back is when a client is trying to access a host via the same ip as the host.

You may need to install a loopback adapter. Many routers don't have auto loopback built in.

---------------------------------------------------
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/842561/how-to-install-the-microsoft-loopback-adapter-in-microsoft-windows-ser

" To install the Microsoft Loopback Adapter by using the Hardware Wizard, follow these steps:

In Control Panel, double-click Add Hardware, and then click
Next
Click Yes, I have already connected the hardware, and then click
Next.
At the bottom of the Installed hardware list, click Add a new hardware device, and then click Next.
Click Install the hardware that I manually select from a list, and then click Next
In the Common hardware types list, click Network adapters, and then click Next.
In the Manufacturers list box, click Microsoft.
In the Network Adapter list box, click Microsoft Loopback Adapter, and then click Next.
Click Next to start installing the drivers for your hardware.
Click Finish.
Click Start, click Settings, and then click Network Connections to verify that the Microsoft Loopback Adapter has been installed. "

Then go to network adapters and go to properties of the new loopback adapter.
In the ip4 settings put in your wide area ip.

--------------------------------------------------------
Instead of installing virtual loopback adapter, you may be able to just edit the file
C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts
It has no extension. Open it with notepad and the next empty line add your wide area ip.
save and try again.
You said you updated the INIs -- this might be a dumb question but did you add a [url] param in Engine.ini? I haven't seen anybody link to https://astroneer.space/dedicatedserver/ yet, which tells you about this. (To clarify: there are 2 INIs to edit, and Engine.ini starts out blank. It's not a great setup, IMHO.)
