Let me share my guess with you:
Raise Terrain. - RMB
Lower Terrain. - LMB
Suck up resources, whilst lowering terrain. - LMB (hold)
Pick stuff up off the ground and move it around. - LMB (hold)
Pick stuff off your backpack. - LMB on your backpack
Put it onto your backpack. - LMB, hold, drag into your backpack
Click buttons on printer to make stuff or click the arrows to select blueprint. - Obviously LMB
Enter/Exit the toilet. (escape pod/shuttle) - TAB
Enter/Exit vehicles, seats, ships etc. - TAB
PS: That's based on what I've seen on streams, gameplays and what I assume is the most logical choice for the layout. Keep in mind that taking a look at the controls (assuming there's an option for that) prior to your playthrough could answer all those questions easily.
I was also wonder if the keypad will be useable to change keys to or blocked, like it is in some console ports. Or Reserved.. as it usually says, guess that we'll find out on the 16th.
T to drop the Tethers
LMB to grab and drag the platforms?
Sprint Key?
Exit Deformer. Select Deformer.
Jump - Space?
Open/Close Backpack -
It's extremely likely that anything you can move or grab will be grabbed with LMB. I kinda went through how the controls most likely work over and over. Which is why I think they are very easy to understand. Not to mention the game is supposed to be played by children as well. Can't really make the controls a kind of rocket science then, right?
Or imagine the controls kinda like using your desktop. There you drag around things holding LMB as well.
Well, of course we can turn it the other way around, too.
But let's just say the controls will be easy enough for everyone (who is still capable of understanding "new" things). I'd be lying if I say I have a proper view on that myself, since I am pretty much in the middle of that. I have plenty of experience which I can apply and I my ability to adapt to see new things is still fine as well.
Hold the Select button to see gamepad controls.
Q for backpack
Shift for sprint, can still sprint while holding an item like a researchable pod but not jump.
For putting tethers back onto the pack the game defaults them to the top left corner even if it's full or has another item in it so useful to do a spot of juggling from time to time to avoid losing tethers.
Zooming out the orbital view for interplanetary travel is clicking on the orange button then selecting new planet within the range. Note planets are not always in range all the time due to orbits so might take a bit of time.
