Packager + shredder = unlimited resource?
1 scrap = 2 graphite
1 graphite = 1 packager
1 packager = 0.75 scrap

so...balance?

I got two scrap for one battery and that's all. :-( Does it need to be a large battery?

you can remove and replace the small battery, so just click it a bunch of times and it'll keep giving you 2 scrap each time, keep it in your backpack as it'll shrink to nothing but will still highlight and jump back to size when clicked, so you can keep using a single battery as much as you want

Holy Magicain's Nephew. I thought it would never stop. Now I have to make heaps of storage. :-)

Takes me back to the days of running hydrazine factories for trade.

I'd say something like "you're just cheating yourself out of a fun resource gathering experience" if they hadn't gone ahead and baked nearly infinite resources into the map gen to begin with.

At this stage into the game I'm glad for the chance to speed up securing resources. Unlocking gates is a long slow process as it is. I'm tempted to stack my rover with a half dozen medium storage packed with batteries. Then I can simply drive up and unlock at one junction.

This is call refining and resell.
That is what manufacturer life all about.

U get raw material. Refine them.
Make into item and sell them.
Buy more material and repeat until u become a millionaire or china come ruin your company.

The value increase at each process.

If u think this is unbalance then u dont belong to this world. I mean the real world

X-D Lolz. Back then there is the smelter exploit. Now this.
It's a good feedback for devs. Playing the game got so boring that players turn to resource exploits.
There are games where process of gathering resource is so interesting, that I never thought of using cheats. Sad.

Scouring below ground for resources can be a real pain, because of the difficulty of negotiating the cave terrain in a truck. That's probably why they loaded up the core. That's where the resources can be found in abundance.

I don't understand why they've devalued the role of terrain vehicles so much. They're still essential, just much harder to work with. No zooming about for astrohoons.

As long as it makes the game more fun I'm fine with it
But I understand why people like exploiting in this game
Its too hard to find resources sometimes

well it depends on which planet. you might be able to use some medium batteries, larger capacity smaller output. for the higher difficulty planets yeah, lots of small batteries and maybe a medium generator to charge what you drain on the way down.

I find the tractor gets around caves just fine. The other ground vehicles not so much, not even the medium rover.

Vehicle need a bulldozer head to push stuff down. Else it hard to drive around even on the surface.
Buddha Feb 28, 2019 @ 2:20am
Yes. Driving underground is not much fun any more. More of a grind.

I just activated the core on Glacio and took two resources with me - one to unlock the gate and one to remove a geometric triptych. I think I fell in my tractor as much as I drove and dug to the core. I found graphite down there, so I made a small printer (took compound just in case), made a packager and packaged my RTG. All I left behind was the tractor. Thank God I didn't have to make my way back up the hard way. Glacio is a really tough planet for caving - worst I've encountered.
