I hate looking for quartz
It never fails...

If I don't need quartz, I find huge deposits.

When I need quartz, there isn't a crystal to be found. duh foook?!?!

If its really a pain I would just soil convert for it, I mean you actually don't really need a ton of it unless your making a ton of beacons or into glass for airtanks. I seem to always find it but just get it from soil, its just easier

I don't need much, just enough to stock up for silicone for habitats.

If I get desperate I'll go farm some soil, I kind of hate doing it that way though. :(

I'm at end game so my mileage is different but I will be honest I find it Super easy to mix and match with a large Rover drill large Storage half and half Canisters and Empty for hitting lower caves.. Level caves as you go and collect x resource as you go along with soil. the rover Drill combo fills those canister FAST.

The drill is fun if your just gathering, I use the rank 3 one and it cuts through rock like butter. Definitely fun.

This is on a new start, I was curious how fast I could get to RTG. My fastest was ~6h, this time I managed to get RTG in about 5 1/2 hours.

Sounds like a simple fix. When you don't need it, mine it anyway and store it in your base for when you do need it.

That's why I just get whatever when I find it. "I don't need this now... but it'd suck to need it later and not have it. Guess I'm hauling it all home and storing it indefinitely then!"

Yeah, the Soil Centrifuge is the best option. Just make a bunch of containers, stick one or two onto your tool, and keep a bunch filled up back at base for when you need a resource at a moment's notice. Ever since I discovered that machine it's been my best friend.

That definately works, I just don't like soil farming.

I'm just nerd raging because I didn't stock up when I had the chance. lol
