Is oxygenator available from start?

I've read on reddit that oxygenator is free in start of game in "initial free pods". Is it like one of the wrecks on the planet surface that I should find? Or is this information from old versions of game?

In the tutorial you find a free oxygenator, but I don't think I've ever seen a free one in the wild in a new game. You have to make one with ceramic and aluminum. It's under small prints, first entry in the journal

I've found it in research menu, it costs 1800 bytes. I've also finaly found that I can use oxygen filters for oxygen so I'll just use them. I still find it a bit confusing that such an important item is hidden in your backpack crafting menu with generic name "oxygen filter" which made me thing it is a crafting ingridient untill I googled it, and not a single reference to it in help tab or tutorial

When you start a new game there's an icon on the landing pad, I would suggest you go have a look at that bro.

The oxygenator IS available from the start, at the landing pad.

Landing pad says "initialize cargo drop", I guess it is for travelling? It does not allow me to press anything
EDIT nwm I pressed green square and it gave me oxygenator thank you

Awesome, perhaps another helpful tip for you, you can recall the cargo drop again and again, it packs up the three items and drops them for you to unpack again, put them on your backpack and you can deploy the O2 gen whenever you want, leave it then recall it once you're back at base, works across planets as well.

Yeah, I had a feeling in the back of my mind that you could also get it for free from the starting pad drop. But it's been awhile since I used that and I wasn't sure. Don't want to steer you the wrong way.
