F no longer picks up?
for some reason pressing F no longer picks up stuff, I have slots free on backpack, and I made sure no button modifiers like shift alt or ctrl are not being pressed.

It has been patched out as of 1.0.7, so not a bug.

Totally dumb decision but hey.

What a retarded decision for PC users (since the bug seemed to have been listed for controller users). This makes it a lot less tolerable.

Yeah, I'm a bit peaved about this removal of something VERY HANDY, just because a few controller users couldn't handle it.

It was extremely useful to hover+f to quick pickup/stow... especially with like running along and picking up tethers to retrace back.

I never used it anyway. I always shift clicked for quick-stow

Same here, didn't know you could use F lol

I always used this. Annoying that they removed it.
Not to mention, it still lists it as a hotkey in the keybinds section.

I can assure you gamepad players also want it back. I was going to submit it as a bug when I noticed in the patch notes that it was actually intended.

Afaik, nobody ever even complained about it or requested it anywhere. Stowing multiple objects like picking up 50 tethers for instance suddenly became a massive chore.

I would really appreciate if I didn't have to wait a week to have it back though.

To know that they removed it in favor of gamepad users makes it even worse. I mean, isn't the game recognising if you play with a controller or with mouse/keyboard? And why not just remove it for those who use a fkn controller?
Thats a good example of how to screw up your game for a handful of people who never learned to play a game with proper input devices.

Calm down, please. Gamepad player here and I also want it back. Afaik no one complained anywhere about the quick stow function or requested that, be it keyboard or gamepad players.

Meanwhile PC players have the possibility to shift+clic to quick stow. On the other hand Gamepad players are now forced to highlight an item, pick it up, then press stow... Every time! that's a real pain.

Pleeeeease tell me you are joking. I use this so much that it is going to cripple my game play. I haven't played yet since the patch but if this is true.. RIP me.:lunar2019scowlingpig:

I personally find the Shift + Click an inconvenience. Because i could be running along want to move something somewhere to pick up to lift something and "YOINK" I've instead inserted it into my backpack. It's very annoying. Or the constant error noise of "full backpack" when i'm juggling multiple research samples back to base which requires some pretty quick clicking and generally better to be running, so shift would be down.. so "beep" "backpack full" AAAAARG even though the giant research items don't FIT in your backpack unless packaged!

shift click because PC Master Race!! accidentally hitting F when you meant to do something else and all of the sudden you popped it in your backpack was annoying for me. Trying to quick-research that thing and it's now in my backpack...

Wait seriously? I use F solely on PC this is some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Why cant we at least have the option? Why would you just remove it?

I actually use a gamepad myself on PC (I am left handed, and left-handed gaming peripherals just don't exist, so gamepad is my preferred method of input) and I am absolutely against this change 100%. That quick stow option was possibly THE most useful part of the interface, and without it, it makes the game seem frustratingly tedious, especially when I want to pick up a bunch of tethers or move a bunch of items from say my smelter over to a storage unit.... It was just a quick little press of a button, and I could pick up a whole line of tethers without even stopping. Now, I've gotta stop at every single one. No, absolutely not. This is ridiculous...

Yeah, sure, I may have accidentally picked up some things when I didn't mean to, but it certainly wasn't such a big deal that it warranted removing the function from the game entirely. I mean, just the thought of having to go through the game and fiddle around with objects and my backpack every time I want to pick something up just makes me not want to play it at all, ugh.

So, please don't blame all gamepad users for this, because I absolutely do NOT like this decision at all; and for that matter, I haven't seen anyone at all who approves of it, so where exactly did they get the information that this was a highly requested change that needed addressing???

F-pick up user here. Shift-click interrupts running. Dev made a terrible move.
I always run and spam F to clear Tethers, very fast and efficient.
Never once I mistake click F and hold F, and I use lots of packagers and research items.
