Retrieve Lost Shuttle in orbit via console
Why do we not have a console command available to retrieve a lost shuttle in orbit, or rather console commands at all. I know cheats can be abused, but i am not talking about cheats.

Why do we not have the ability to retrieve a shuttle from orbit that is stuck in orbit due to a friend or yourself dropping out/losing connection.
Forcing a respawn on planet and leaving said shuttle in orbit unaccessible. Even a way to respawn at said shuttle in orbit to retrieve it, or a call for it to land at the nearest platform.

I have 2 shuttles a small and medium in orbit that can not be retrieved, i can see them in the sky when the orbits past my location

How do you lose a shuttle in space?

Because they said "No"

If you had of read and absorbed what i wrote i stated that
I will put it in point form for better understanding
- A friend launched to goto another planet and in the process his internet dropped out
- When he logged back into my game he was forced to spawn on the planet.
- The Shuttle was still in orbit.
Thus losing a shuttle in orbit, as no way exist to retrieve said shuttle

Search this forum for "console"

Back when we asked for one, they said "No"

Well there needs to be some kind of recovery path from a situation like this. Dedicated servers will come with admin commands, surely?

Exactly you can not just say you will get no means to recover anything.
Part of admining a server is to allow the admin to perform actions that can recover stuff or aid in helping someone who has lost something due to a bug or a server side related issue. Without any kind of command ( for lack of a better term cheat) that can not be accomplished without theses aids.

Don't count on it. The only commands you will have are ..
On or Off.

You're dreaming if you think they're going to implement stuff like this for what is basically a bug. The best you can hope for is that it will be less likely to happen as they bring in dedicated servers.

They have major bugs with terrain. Can you imagine using console commands to recover lost items from underground? Nice fantasy, I guess.

That is the most absurd reason i have ever heard. We wont impliment anything to help recover from a bug because it's a bug, nice approach. Yes it's a bug and untill it is fixed what is the negative for having the ability, even when dedicated does come in having the ability is still a plus never a negative.
I have played many games that give players and admins the ability to recover lost stuff due to a bug, Weather it be bring x to me or spawn x in. If enough players on a server loss stuff to x bug and admin can not replace it what do you think happens. They leave the game goto steam and leave a bad review, are they entitled to leave a bad review yes they are.

All the dedicated game servers I've used have been simple command line .exes that operate using plain text like a teletype machine. I'm not sure what a server without admin commands would even look like.

Maybe your use of "Console Command" is what got the negative responses, perhaps a communications device you can have at your base can signal, then return the shuttle? Perhaps new shuttles that are unmanned and are controlled with the advanced version of said controller?

They don't have to do anything fancy to fix this problem. Any shuttle in orbit of any planet for a duration of X minutes without input should automatically land on the planet it is orbiting. If there is a shuttlepad, should land there and otherwise just land at random (it is already like this for this part as far as I know). Then the DC player would reappear at the shuttle location instead.

Even better, shuttles without input should only autoland if there is nobody on board. When the player leaves the game, The game would have been doing a check whether it's manned and when it comes up negative, the countdown starts. When the player comes back, they're put back in the shuttle, and if they take too long, the shuttle lands and the player will rejoin next to or in it.

Both of these solutions to me are more preferred solutions and one would think, something like this would have already been implemented. The game is full release after all and is still buggy as hell.
