How do you guys deal with Debris

Do you have some setup or do you just back and forth? As the latter seems incredibly time consuming..

We need a little Dump truck we can pick up the debris and return it to our bases..

I do like the idea of a dumping trailer a bit more, as that would also be great for brining back larger research samples. And not sure if you can fit modules on the trailer that only goes on large platforms, like the research module ;)

Just ignore debris, farm lithium until you are sick, make batteries, observe how each battery generates stupid amount of scrap (broken imo).
Rough estimate is that one lithium makes 2 scrap this way, so you can park on lithium rich planet and have all resources you need (except gases).

There's never been a way to carry more than a single bit of scrap at a time.

I'd always hoped that they'd make a tool upgrade which would let you shred debris instead of burying it and moving on.

Scrap in general does seem like a half baked idea, time it takes for small items can be almost as long as the larger chunks like pods while larger bits vanish in next to no time.

Build 2 large rovers (or 3, but 3 are hellish to control).
Connect both rovers together.
Build 4 Large Storages and place them on the two rovers.
Build 1 Rover Seat and attach it to the front.
Build 1 Large Shredder and Attach to the back of the 2nd Rover.
Build 10-12 Medium Storage and place them on the Large Storages.
Build a Medium Battery, 1-2 Solar and/or 1-2 Wind Turbines as the Shredder need a lot of power. You can also build just one RTG and skip the rest and instead take more Medium Storages.

Voila. Shredding until you drown with space for 96 - 120 scrap.

You can also build only one rover with the same setup. More vehicle control, less storage.

1 Large Shredder
1 Large Storage
2-3 Medum Storage for scrap
1 Medium Storage filled with 4 small Solars, 3 small turbines and 1 genny (just in case).
1 Medium Battery
1 Seat

That's my shredding setup. Affordable (though requires Chem Station and Condenser), mobile, effective. Ride around, shred stuff, load research pods.

you can put large storage or shredders on the back of rovers, too. in EA I did double shredder rover trains with 4 large rovers and a lot of large and medium storage. not much need for double shredder trains anymore, and RTGs make it a lot easier to run scrap. just remember to bring a trade platform or the resources for it in case you get lost, you can turn scrap into a shuttle and look from above where you need to go (from orbit, north pole is the right side of the planet)

Gives time to setup beacons and explore. Different task, gives a break on other stuff.

thats what i like about shredding, whole new branch of activity to break up monotony of other tasks, and its woven in well

I bring 3 generators and total 3 trailers should I stumble upon triangles shape that gives 1000 bytes if researched.
