could be lots of things. iknow my game crashes a lot of I have heavy overclocks set on my graphics card, and I have to turn it down further for multiplayer. Farcry 5 is stable at higher OC than Astroner for me, as an example. Also, have you tried loweringt the graphics settings and/or screen resolution in the game settings before engaging multiplayer? that MIGHT help. Also, the smoothest way I know to engage multiplayer is if everyone already has the game running in menu and uses the "shift+tab" command to bring up the steam overlay, then find your friend on the friendlist, grab the dropdown "v" next to their name and then click "join game" from there. hope that helps, let us know ether way and good luck.

If you do still have problems, please post your system specs like CPU, how much RAM you have and what graphics card you have as it will likely be relevant if the above does not solve your problem
