Otherwise toss 'em away in your mine or deep hole
Also a great idea.
Why? You'll need to produce more than just one car or one module, unless you intend to drag your entire base around every planet several times.. you'll need alot more gas. So producing several automatically is perfect.
YEpppppp agreed.
Or they could simply not have it run until it fills all available space with gas canisters you don't need. No other crafting station in the game does this. A printer doesn't keep cranking out medium platforms until it runs out of resin. A chemistry lab doesn't continue synthesizing composites until it runs out of inputs - you have to manually start each one. Likewise, you should manually have to start each gas canister fill after the previous one completes.
Having an automated crafting station sounds more like something that automation should be handling, not something that's always on by default, and with no option to switch it off. Not only is it annoying, it is also inconsistent with the way other crafting stations behave.
As an interim solution, they might allow for gas canisters to be researched for some small token amount, as a way of getting rid of them.
Considering i made something like 72 NanoCarbon Alloy yesterday.... it would be nice if they did
Again, that's something for automation when it's added. Standard gameplay should not be automated, any of it, including ALL crafting stations.
So the atmospheric condenser makes however many there are storage slots for, this seems like a simple and easy mechanic for you to work around --placing it on the platform suggested seems like the easiest way.
I personally like that some stuff works different than other stuff, but that's just me.
automation is on the to-do list, so it might be in that this one was set up with that in mind. that said, puting some sort of craft goal per run would be nice.
It will smelt any material that is on its platform that it can, including anything on say a med storage platform - so bigger platform, bigger queue.
It should at least have 2 buttons. One for producing one, other "infinite" production.
Some games that have this option.
What are the other machines that automatically do things as well? The Smelting Furnace, what is not really an issue, since will only convert the resource that you manual set there. And even though, you can toggle it off. The other is the Soil Centrifuge, what also is not an issue, but it would be better if we could click at the Soil gauge and choose how many we want to use.
micro outposts at each node. 1 rtg, 1 port oxy, and 1 med B platform makes for a nice micro outpost.
