Where's the Malachite?
I've heard that malachite can be found in the mountain biomes. Although this is true, it's INSANELY rare for me there, and whenever I find a vein of it, it only supports one actual item. Am I looking in the wrong spot, or should I dig into the mountains?

Personally, I've mostly found it in the mountains, however, I have seen DEEEEEEEP underground, very close to the core. Make a walking path, don't use a mole-machine (tractor/rover with drill).

"Twas my first time on core level; tractor train is stuck in weird terrain (because I drilled through the ceiling), digs the terrain aaaaaaaaaaaand an exploder was hiding there. That wasn't fun to retrieve.

Sounds like a lot of people are having this problem. The codex thing in the Esc menu actually says the "primary resource" is malachite, but I see people complaining that they can find tons of quartz, resin, zinc, compound, etc...but no copper.

PSA: Copper is found in the mountains of Sylva now! As a bonus, ammonium is common in Forests.

Just get a shuttle up and working and go to the desert world (Calidor). Find a cave and you will literally have all the copper you want.

I've had to modify my play style for this game. In the prior versions -- with the smattering of resources seen everywhere -- you could build a base on one world and then only go to others for exploring/fun/expansion.

But now post 1.0, the goal seems to be getting into space ASAP and finding the other resources elsewhere.

The desert world has tons of copper everywhere, and since aluminum/ammonia is easy to get (and that the solid fuel booster is good for a two-way trip), there's no reason to not just pop over, stuff 2-3 medium cargo storages full of ore and then return to wherever you've decided to set up your main base.
