Playing for houırs, can't find a single quartz at the starting planet. Do i have to travel another planet for it?

Another note to that: In Early Access the cave system of every planet had only 3 levels/layers/types. I heared now with Terrain 2.0 the planets have more layers, 5 or 6 if I remember correctly. I've not seen every variation yet, but normally every layer has slightly different materials/density. Some material are only available on certain planets.

Quartz however is considered a basic resource and should be available on every plant, probably in varying density but the Soil Extractor can help you out there as mentioned above.

Its pretty deep in the caves, however you can use the soil extractor to make it. Makes it pretty easy to get.

I checked many caves but no luck. Didn't know about soil-extractor though. It looks helpful. Thanks :)

In the previous versions you could find pockets of quartz on the surface, the new terrain seems to have done away with that which makes exploring lacking as you can't find something of interest, drop a beacon and move on to something new.

Not even the big things that got added have a becaon marker so it's all down to guesswork to figure out where the hell you are in relation to your base.

Soil extractor is an option but not a good one unless you're willing to drop a platform everytime you want a batch since taking quatrz with you instantly limits the stuff you can forage.

The landing site is not the same for every game now, when I first started it seemed like I had a crappy spot where every cave was inaccessible. I started a new game and landed in a different spot that was considerable better resource wise and had easier to access caves.
