no compound?

I just started a new game with 1.0 and i have searched as far as my oxygen will let me in all directions of my starting base and there is no compound anywhere. I even went down into all the caves around me. still no compound. Is this on purpose or just bad luck?

I found some but it did take a minute, unfortunetly oxygen tethers seem to be broken and will not connect to the main base

Connect Oxygenator to base?

yeah you get an oxygenator now in your starter pack. just put it in your home base and it will make oxygen

When you click that first button to get your first platform, it drops an Oxygenator. you have to install that onto your main shelter, otherwise it wont feed oxygen to your platforms and your tethers will not give you O2.

I have the same problem with compound. It has become much too rare!

It may be buried, use your terrain tool and watch for the compound element to show. Or just start another game which is a lot easier since its a new game anyways.

It's not rare - it's just deposits are now slightly less dense.
When digging, pay attention to your terrain tool circle - if you are digging near resource, it shows a symbol. Good way to check if there is a deposit hiding just a bit further.
