You cannot build the Exo Habitat or upgrade the dropship to become a Exo Habitat
It isn't really necessary, an open seat is cheaper, just as good and doesn't 'waste' a slot on your shuttle
Can you respawn at the dropship? Or will you always respawn at your Habitat at your homeplanet? Obiously an open seat cannot be used for respawn.
The habitat you can craft has been around forever and used to be what you started with. When they added the new hab this all changed. We can not craft the new starting habitat.
I also wouldn't agree that the BIG hub has sufficient power. It only has a very small trickle to help get you by early early game. If your at the point where you can craft the Habitat you should have all the other power options available to you so go to new planets with a plan to establish a base that includes power, printers and platforms.
Seems resonable.. really all depends on how many research stations you have running and how much smelting/crafting your doing. But I usually go with a Large Platform B with a Large Storge attached then put two solars on either end and 4 large batteries. Setup two of those and maybe another couple solars for good mesure is what I usually end up with for my base outposts.
Depends on base size and the planet but always have a battery incase the night cycles are long and you go through a long period without wind
I always take a small generator just in-case
If you're on a planet with lots of organic the medium generator is extremely OP
Farm organic, smelt it to make carbon and you have enough power to survive any night period or period with no wind
You put the Medium Gen on a platform, it can't be place on the ground by itself. Once mounted on a platform just plug the platform into whatever you need to supply power to.
