Medium printer not working

Hey guys, i wanted to check the new patch so i tried a new game with a friend. We got a bit stuck because we coudnt make the printer work. Even tried to rebuild a new one with its platform
Don't know if i i'm stupid or missing something but we could use the help. we're probably going to try to create a new game in an hour or so, we will see...

Did you make sure you have things unlocked to make with the printer?

And if so, you have to hold your mouse over the printer and hold 'E' to use.

oh i was trying to craft a large storage and thought i was with the printer. That should be it thanks

and dont forget to check power connections. thats got me a few times.

Large storage is vehicle bay only atm. (This does work with platforms, for now.) It would be good if less specialised items like storage could be printed by anything physically large enough to do so.

for some reason large storage doesnt appears in my vehicule bay but medium storage has the same number of slots so it doesnt rlly matter

You've gotta unlock it first in your research panel.
Also the difference between the large and medium storage is that the large storage, while having the same number of 'small' slots, has the ability to hold four medium-sized items or 8 small items, as opposed to the mediujm storage having space only for 8 small items.

Vehicle bays only show their secondary recipes when there's a vehicle or platform under them. Things like large storage can only be printed onto valid connectors. Note that one of the things large storage can hold is four medium storage.

Oh, also be aware that large storage will not currently work with batteries, generators or anything that requires a power supply. We're pretty sure that's unintended, as it massively restricts design options for vehicles.

(And bases, honestly. A platform with four batteries and two medium storage full of small solar would be my standard power station if it connected properly.)

New game or platform/storage built in 0.6.2 working for me.

I used to like this game but this new base building update4 is so complex and convoluded,. It takes 5x longer to get started- this game of grind got way more grindy- I hate the new control scheme- THIS IS A PC! I HAVE A KEYBOARD! A WHOLE DAMN KEYBOARD! Stop making Q and E & escape keys to use- UGHJ!!!!!!!!!- HOLD THE KEY!??????? NOOOOO! But I USED to like this game......

It simple once u learn the hidden printer location.


When r they going to wake up and set where the researched object is going to be printed. Even in alpha this level of detail is expected.

It does feel like we're halfway between updates atm, but it wouldn't really have been viable to push a complete redesign of base construction as an experimental only release.

Just got that update, awesome stuff. Hope they never fix the vehicle parts on platforms thing!

The icon to build can disappear on the medium print and vehicle bay. Holding 'E' will still work as long as the object hologram is green.
