Press F1 in-game for controls list.
You can adjust it by lowering or highering the ground below the pipe, you can visually see this adjust it. Though sometimes they may go down even if showing that they are going straight, so you may need to compensate for this and bring the ground up higher so that it evens it out.
I find starting over if I have landed on a great deal of rocks and boulders in the way. For some reason I cant even bury them, so I delete the save and restart the map again.
Look up Targa. He is one of the communities Terrain designers. He has a lot of tips and you can view a lot of what he has done to perfect terrain design. He has inspired me to restart my base once I seen what he could do with the terrain! Its impressive, but tedious and takes time till the Devs can make it a little easier for us.
