*Like the Power Cell.
Filters will just filter the carbon dioxide produced and extend your oxygen lifespan. After a short period of time, those filters will break as their filtering capacity was reached, like with the craftable power cells which do break after depletion.
Find it funny how many people presumed filters were spore gas defense boost ;)
I would suggest making the filters/powercells either more powerful, easier(cost less) to build, or separate necessary function. Its far more efficient to just put compound to tether construction and save for onboard bat/oxy upgrades.
But then again that's exactly the point of tanks and batteries. Nobody is forcing anybody to build filters and powercells.
I myself put a tank and a battery on my side slots. Even if I die it follow me to respawn and it is an appreciable boost of survivability.
Oxygen Tanks & Batteries are longer lasting extensions. Think of these as Scuba Tanks and Car Batteries.
None of those provide protection from gas plants which you shouldn't be able to breath in your space suit anyway so maybe they shoot acid gas instead and it damages your space suit.
I remember thinking: "Ok filters, not so useless after all."
